Mack,

I'm not sure about an A-frame, but have been quoted between 3 and 4 for B frames in excellent condition. My neighbor is selling his Webley (he is not sure if its an A or B and I haven't seen it) and expecting about 3.5...

Hope it helps,
Kandarp

Mack, taking 3.5 lakhs as the dealer price for a B series from a dealer, the A series would be about 50-60 thousand cheaper atleast. Then you have to take into account the dealers margin ( 25,000/- to silly)

There is no difference between the A and B series revolvers. They are exactly the same.

Thanks, Winnie.

If there is no difference between the A and B series why would the A-series be substantially cheaper?

The B series indicates a more recent manufacture. They are both Mark IV revolvers and this is indicated on the revolvers. The no series,A and B series Mark IV revolvers are basically the same revolver with difference being confined to how old they are.

Why the difference in price? Because it is a silly world out there. So while a longer barreled A series revolver goes for less than a shorter barreled one,a longer barreled B series revolver goes for more than a shorter barreled B series revolver. Why? Because there are fewer long barreled B series revolvers

BTW both the small and large grips are inter changeable.

What can be sillier than a safety on a revolver, yet people pay more for one which has it.I have even seen a safety lever installed in a DAO CZ .25 pistol.

Perhaps it is rightly so.See the number of idiots who pose with their finger on the trigger? The vast majority, when they hold a firearm, instinctively do this in India.Probably on account of the limited exposure to firearms and ignorance of firearms safety.

Sorry for the rant.

Mack. This is what dealers ask for. Webley A series 3 inchers cost around 2.75 lakh to 3.5 lakh and B series between 3.5 and 4 lakh give or take 10k depending on location of market and condition of weapon. However one in original bluing (extremely rare) still commands a good price, at least 15 k more than a similar reblued one.
I have even seen a safety lever installed in a DAO CZ .25 pistol.
Winnie there was a .25 CZ DAO in my family till last year. It did not have a safety. Can you please tell me which model you are referring to ? I am curious because as far as I know CZ made only DAO pistol in .25 in the last century. Its later model also did not have a safety.

This is the one I am talking about

Dear All, the market price for webley revolvers, all the time, depends upon few points i.e. "HOW ( 3 or 4 inch barrel ,original / reblued)" and "HOW OLD (this may include the series)" the weapon is ? Who is the Buyer- YOU or the ARMS DEALER ? and an important factor "The current Factory Price/waiting period" for IOF Revolver.
If you want to sell your webley, the dealer uses the words " In dinon demand bahut kam hai,/ IOF revolver ki waiting na ke barabar chal rahi hai,/ Rakh deejiye dekh lenge and will offer you something about 3 times the factory price of iof revolver. But on the other hand if you are the buyer The DEALERS will demand 4 to 5 times the factory price of new iof revolver. Besides this the prices are on higher side In DELHI and NCR.
