Yep, Badshah is right - only heard of FGK & SAF making the IOFB .32 revolver so far... both are in Kanpur...

Though the .32 pistol was being produced at another factory... not sure which one though... RFI - Ishapore maybe??

AFAIK (I could be wrong though) Jabalpur factories produce vehicles - Jongas (out of production now), Shaktiman (on their way out/ stopped production - I think, not sure), I believe they even assemble armoured vehicles like APCs and tanks there....

Cheers!

Abhijeet,

Apart from manufacturing the Vehs it also issues the NSP firearms the ones that are issued to folks from the forces at a throw away price.

You are correct the .32 Mark 1 and II are out of Kanpur.

Tanks are made in Avadi,Chennai and the ones that are imported are issued out of Kirkee,Pune.

Thanks

Sanjay

Sanjay,

As a matter of interest - why don't you apply for a NSP firearm? With 5 years of service, you should qualify.... Maybe a Springfield .30-06 or something along those lines... they may still have a few in stock and you are right - their prices are simply unbeatable! Makes it worth the trouble they put you through these days to acquire one...

Cheers!

$8!! The prices seem to have gone up! Dad got the M1 for 30 rupees or something to the effect... ;)

Jokes apart, it's surely worth the wait - think of it this way, if you'd applied on release, you'd have one sitting in your cupboard right now! :)

Cheers!

Is it true that IOF is coming up with mark III revolver soon? That is what a local gun dealer has told me.

Ya, Dark black will be PB, Light black will be NPB.

As for the finish, MkIII will offer you mind boggling choice of hand brush painted, Nerolac, Asian Paints, Jenson Nicholson, Berger... tailored for any budget.
