WHERE TO GET SPARES FOR IMPORTED PISTOLS IN INDIA

Post by gopal » Tue Aug 04, 2009 8:18 pm

Sir,
I am having an all India license and possess one walther pp .32 1968 proof tested pistol in its original bluing condition.
I am from Kerala and here we dont have good dealers who can offer what i need. Recently i got one spare magazine for it from delhi and costs about 25,000.00.Can anyone advise me to get the genuine spares at a reasonable price in India? Moreover in one posting I read about not to use RUSTLICK or WD 40 to oil the weapons as it will destroy the original bluing. I am using BALLISTOL all purpose oil and can anyone advise whether it is good or bad?
Thanks Gopal

It happens only in India....... :)
Jeff Cooper advocated four basic rules of gun safety:
1) All guns are always loaded. Even if they are not, treat them as if they are.
2) Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy.
3) Keep your finger off the trigger till your sights are on the target.
4) Identify your target, and what is behind it.

Hi Friends
Everybody knows that arms import has been banned since 1983. Before that we can go abroad and purchase, give duty and can use it in India, But after 1983 its not easy to purchase from abroad. Those weapons which are brought to india before 1983 are still in circulation here. The less fired, more cared, original bluing,no cracks or rust, these all matters to find a good weapon.
More over in Cuba 1930 plymoth car costs more than a Merc S class in US even though they are very near countries. Why? Coz in Cuba they are under the bann of US to import Automobiles.
I think you got the point

Gopal

Yeah mate, but what they are saying is that you could have done the same deal for far less in India itself.

Dear Friend,i have done this.I bought one walther pp .32 magazine from Delhi Sharada arms.I called him over phone ordered, send money to his account, within one week the magazine was on my doorstep.Even though it costed well its original.
I am sorry Gopal, had you discussed it on the forum before buying the magazine, I am sure you would have saved a lot of money.

best,

Hi Gopal,

You almost sound like you're proud you got ripped off..... royally... :)

and I thought the import ban was imposed in 1986.

I don't know if you all can receive anything shipped from us folk in the states, but I know i can pick up a spare PP 32 magazine for him for less than $50 if he won't get into trouble if I shipped it to him.

I also have (I think) a set of Pachmyer grips for a ppk/S which should fit a pp if that individual would like them
