Guys, that bit about Hyderabad gunshops taking orders for the IOF '06 at Rs.75,000.00 turned out to be a lot of bull. Sorry!

Looks like IOF is taking its sweet time to introduce this gun to the general public. The question is, will this gun be worth the hype it has generated ?
Cheers

By hype, i mean the performance expectations from this gun. I have a great respect for .30 06 caliber round.I have fired Remington 30 06 couple of times and am quite impressed with its. I can only wish this is somewhat close to that if not that good.

I was confused between choosing a .22 or a .315.. but now .30's arrival is making me more confused as people are telling that obviously its going to be better with a range of around 425M. thats Remarkable but still i am Confused.

Dodger

.22 is a good rifle for a beginner . Ammo is readily available, its cheap and you can practice more and then graduate to a .315 or .30. Try to limit your discussion on similar topic to one thread. It increases admin burden.

Fresh out of factory -----> Go for the .22 IOF. You can plink as much as you like but for home protection , well what can I say , a lot has been already said, but is better than nothing in your hands.

You have time and patience and are willing to spend approx. 50K in addition to the 54K you paid for the rifle --------> Rush to Patiala and get your .315 modified. Visho posted some pictures of a modified .315, it is awesome. You can plink some and obviously it a better home/self defence gun.

30.06 is still an elusive bird, at the moment it is reported to be selling at a premium ( approx 1.2-1.3L). However NO ONE has commented on the quality or the performance so far. Has anyone on IFG heard anything about the performance or quality of IOF 30.06 rifle ?

best,

RP.

While trawling the OFB site( for the DG IOFB's mailing address , for another post) I came across a pdf document on their .30 06 rifle. I hope I've attached it correctly.
