I bought my .315 IOF in 1970 Jan and thoroughly enjoyed shooting it till 1977. I guess it was one of the earlier and better made rifle. In Mumbai the ammo cost was Rs.75 for 100 then. I even slayed hares with it. But, always thought of upgrading my rifle caliber as there were a lot of better made European, American and English guns around me being used by shooting buddies. Hence swapped it with a FN Belgique 30-06. I still have this 30-06 in my possession. Anything shot well with a .315 stayed put with a single shot and that's an honest confession never the less.

I think you should get the rifle back and if you want to upgrade it to some new rifle you can always sell this one and buy a new rifle of your choice.
Thank you for your reply. I think that will be the best course of action.
