Brother you are a lucky man... A heirloom like this is special and to be cherished for generations. i hope your future generations will value and hold it as dear as it is been to you and your father.... Truly magnificent Rifle...A collectible.... be nice if the old leather case can be restored to its former glory... Also like to see more pics and the stories (if any) associated with the gun... Why was it not in your family's possession for so long.

Thank you Captain! Yes, this one is definitely a befitting hand-me-down and its never gonna be sold, not in my lifetime! The case is currently undergoing a restoration from a seasoned 2nd generation case-maker, so its in the right hands, I will post pics here very soon, I know they've been pending far too long.

Any luck in finding a source for fresh ammo? I do understand that some people can source it subject to the buyer buying a bare minimum.

While Norma and Kynoch (now Kynamco) currently offer fresh ammo in the .375 Flanged Mag. my options this side of the pond are limited to old cordite-loaded Kynoch ammo that I can manage to scrimp and scrounge from dealers over here, some go off and some just dont, it also sometimes depends upon how well the ammo has been stored too, but then again ammunition has a shelf life too and considering the odds, the freshest Kynoch ammo available here would be 40+ years old! So it plainly a chance you have to take, the quantities some people would willingly place a minimum order for usually run into the thousands, and when it comes to obsolete cartridges, they're asking the earth!

Lovely rifle. The clam shell action is so solid. I have handled a Otto bock 577 NE which was also a clam shell action. How much does this rifle weight? I would love to see close up photos and shooting results. Thanks for sharing

from some local dealers .... Most of it doesnt fire ..... !!!

No, the ammo I have presently was kept very well and so far I have not had a single failure. I will be getting some Norma African PH ammo for this rifle very soon though, hope there are no regulation issues with those.
