ebenezer, No need NOC. You can tell the DGFT notification to fedex guy, and send documents to his email.

I have sent all the required documents to Fedex (Rifle Club ID, Bonafide letter, DGFT notification copy, Paypal receipt and commercial invoice). Fedex representative says police NOC might be required. Did they ask one from you namcmd? If so, what's the format and should I get it from the police in Bangalore or Chennai?

Ebenezer,

Every parcel before customs clearance ( containing air guns) is inspected by the CAR , armorer and he submits a

report which is the noc. That is taken care of at the cargo complex which should happen some time.

When you receive the package you will find hand written on it, NOC which means as above.

Best of luck. talk to Jijo Thomas at Fedex, who is very efficient and proactive.

Regards............ Shankar.

Dear Shankar,
Jijo is the one handling my shipment. He is helpless as the customs is asking for a police NoC, not the one mentioned by you. I have to get an NoC from my local police stating that I dont have any cases against me and that there is no objection on me getting the airgun and so on. The tracking results now say that clearance is under progress.

Hi ebenezer- what you're talking about is the affidavit. It's kind of a character certificate. You can apply for it, and obtain it easily from the police or the district collector. :)

Arun, the fedex guy then said its better to include something about the airgun also in the NoC. Btw, the tracking update now says that clearance in progress.
