Hi,

I agree D2 is good, I will be getting some sword blades forged, and Im not so sure about using D2 for longer blades. But for knives, I think D2 is great. I have a Kukri & Bowie forged from D2.

Im going with 1075 steel for the swords.

Do you have any experience with 1075?

Regards,

Yes you can go for this 1075 for the longer blade but incase of D2 its little hard to forged for a longer size and in the case of D2 you need to have the vacuum furnace but in case of 1075 oil quenching will be sufficient.
