Dear IFGians

I want to know that the ring attached to to the grip of Webley revolvers have
something to do with mechanism as one of my friend have losted his ring and
when he showed his revolver to a dealer he tell him that it is risky to carry a
webley revolver without that ring.

amitgzb: That ring is simply there to attach a lanyard, which in turn is attached to the uniform belt. In order to prevent loss of the weapon, and make it harder to grab away from you. It is found on police and military handguns. It has absolutely nothing to do with the mechanism. And your friend shouldn't even have a gun until he becomes better informed. My opinion.
