I just read this article - centered on Chandigarh - what a boat load of BS "At street gatherings in downtown Chandigarh and other wealthy cities, teenagers and twentysomethings compete over who's got the best gun as police look the other way, wary of offending offspring of powerful families, people say."

Which sector in chandigarh are they talking about? This is ridiculous caricature - all powerful chaps have police bodyguards anyways

That article is clearly directed at a class of readers who still believe India is about bullock carts and snake charmers....."Good Gosh....Why do them bullock carters and snake charmers need guns " And there are still a huge number of westerners who know nothing about this country and who can / will be influenced by such wrong stories.......Time to write comments on the article and let the LA Times folks know what a bunch of fools they are to allow some idiot to write something so stupid in their web space ? Of course they will not publish the comments but they will know what people feel about the issue from far away India.

Ok that was boring and we've been around that corner many times over.
Anyways, there was just this one thing I found interesting enough to have a follow-up here.
I see the NAGRI head count there - 3500. Authentic??
