Rajputana Jeep Club & eventxtreme have organised a ford & willys jeep rally in jaipur. Locations are superb.

programme

1. Registration of jeep’s at Jeepworks, 1 queens road- 1700 to 1930 HRS from 6th to 8th Nov ‘08
2. 9th Nov’08 0700hrs
a) Assembly of Jeep’s at Ashok Club
b) Judging/Scrutiny of Jeep’s
c) Breakfast for Participants/Guests
d) 1000hrs Flag off of Rally by Chief Guest
e) Convoy Drive to Dera Amer, Kukas.
4. Photo Secession of jeeps at Amer with palace as a backdrop.
5. 1130hrs Reach Dera Amer, Refreshments followed by competitive off-road Section
6. 1330hrs End of competitive section
7. 1400hrs Prize Distribution followed by Beverages/lunch for Participants

Hmmm.. thats a nice event...
I also saw quite a few good deals on jeeps up North. I was myself planning to buy a MM540, Classic 4 X 4 or Invader.... :)

why dont you buy a short chassis jeep and do it up.. will work out much cheaper than buying a in-production vehicle.

Alternatively, MM 550 (5 gears) is a good buy. Only modification requried is fat tyres.. maybe alloys and a good paint job..

Yes, that though has crossed my mind...
I have located some auctions where Govt. vehicles can be got for throw away prices... and plan to work on them to make them off-road fit devils...
As and when that happens, I will keep you guys informed :)

saw the thread only today. I do have a 1960 model Jeep CJ3B fully restored and operational parked downstairs. Would have loved to come had this intimation been a few days earlier.

Only Ford GPW, Willys MB, CJ2A & CJ3A is allowed in this rally. Your jeep is CJ3B.
