How about having Our 2nd Monthly IFG meet in Pune on Sunday 8th nov.??

And next morning onwards.. shooting seriously

Those who can't come overnite, can join us directly on Sunday Morning...

This time it would be more interesting than the previous one..

Pl shoot your views, suggestions, etc . through pm to me or hvj..So the final date & agenda of meet can be planned...

I don't know how I missed this thread. From the few pics I've seen, Balewadi Range is truly amazing. Wish we had something like this here. :(

hvj1, chief, hats off to your contribution in the Balewadi Range.

Jeff Cooper advocated four basic rules of gun safety:
1) All guns are always loaded. Even if they are not, treat them as if they are.
2) Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy.
3) Keep your finger off the trigger till your sights are on the target.
4) Identify your target, and what is behind it.

Hvj1,
I was told some IFGans shot away their .22 rifles and handguns at the Trap and Skeet range at Balewadi in the last meet, It certainly has not left a very good impression behind for IFGians. Please do not get carried away and allow any one repeat this again, no matter how influential politically. I am sure Hvj1, your presence ensures no such thing will happen this time or ever in future.

Hello Marksman,
1.If you are refering to the one official IFG meet, that took place in Oct last year, then I can safely say, that I was very much present and took upon myself the role of range officer. I can tell you that NO .22 rifle or handguns were fired on the Trap & Skeet range.
2.If you are referring about any other unofficial meet, where the firing took place with said weapons on the trap & skeet range, first and foremost, I have full faith in the IFG shooters who shoot there and know that they will not do anything irresponsible. Secondly, if such a thing has occured then do let me know and I thank you for the same.
3.However,you need to verify the facts from the people who have commented on these things. Usually, somebody who is new to sport may have offhandedly, referred to the Trap & Skeet Range as a general purpose range.
4. Finally, those in charge of the Balewadi Shooting Range, will never allow such an incident to take place, but you never know, there is always a first time.
Regards

hvj1,
Your presence there is a proof enough of the fact that it did not happen then. How ever this did happen and as we all know that even the slight loose talk involving IFGian can work against us big time. A non IFGian (local) shot crows at the skeet range to try out his newly acquired Dominator Air Rifle last week and this news is confirmed. Our only concern should be to strictly discourage such activities and that was the only motive behind the mail.
Happy shooting
Marksman
