Found a pic for you. Did not have a digicam then but took a digi pic of it and it has come out well enough to give you an idea of how I compress the springs into the chamber.

I will do a new topic with do's and don'ts when I install the spring for Ranjeet but until then be content with this.

Please do NOT discuss spring compressors on this thread.

wd40 is dangerous not only for internal but for external too...
since bluing is again a kind rust formation ,the strong formulation of wd 40 wud def love to loosen it from the finish and thus the bluing which wud generally prevent the oxidation wud not protect the outer finish.
if i am wrong pls comment...since with this logic of mine i never apply wd40 even on the outer suface of blued parts...

To the best of my knowledge WD40 does not remove bluing by itself.

I don't recall the name of the shop(could be Universal traders ), but it's on SP road and in front of Taeyebi traders at the far end of SP road when you approach it from the Corporation side.

btw, the hardware shop guys refer to it as 'assembly grease'.

just out of topic but cud u tell me other than airspringers,where do this grease find use,so that if and when i go to a hardware shop i may well explain the chap a lil better while asking him for assembly grease.

now if you could also help with this - where in bangalore can we get synthetic washers / silicon washer (is that what they are called) for airguns ?

I guess it's used on gears.You can check the manufacturer's catalogue for more information on applications.

Don't know any.Do let me know if you come across any.A friend of mine made his own nylown washers by cutting discs from the cylinderical tubes sold in the market.
