Sukhraj,
The IOF 30-06 is surprisingly accurate.Surprising because from looking at the rifle you would not believe that it can shoot straight. There is at least one fellow who obtained the 'Renowned Shot Certificate' and thus became eligible to import a rifle, using this rifle in the last National Games.
If a good rifle is one that is accurate then, by that definition, the IFO 30-06 is a good rifle. It has issues but nothing that can not be sorted out.Even some of the rifles sold in the international market have issues right out of the box.Since there is a ban on import by all but a minority,I have no personal exposure to what is current abroad. It is limited to what people post on the net.You can do the same ie. google

.Do consider the IOF 30-06 before you spend a fortune on a 25 to 90 year old rifle.
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their consciences.
