sir my father has a sbbl license and it was expired at 2003 and right now gun is surredered to police.Last month my father was passedaway.Now i want that gun because it is a family property,but in our district(bellary,karnataka) it is not easy to get gun license they are asking me to submit incometax papers and job profile but i am not a incometax payer and right now i don't have a job,tell me what i have to do (i am aged about 24).is there is a possibility to transfer of license?

1. It appears the gun was deposited under Rule 46 of Arms Rules 1962.
2. I do not think arms licenses are transferable. Apply for arms license in your name under family heirloom. You would also need to submit no objection certificates from all legal heirs. Once you get the license, get the shotgun released and endorsed on your license.
3. Non income tax payees or unemployed can get arms license. Read Sections 13 and 14 of Arms Act 1959 carefully.
