It is with sadness that today I read of the passing of Dilip Kumar. I admire his work and have enjoyed his pictures very much, including his great performance in Bimal Roy's
Devdas, but my favorite is where he again teamed up with Vyjayanthimala in Madhumati.
“You should tell someone what you know. There should be a history, so that men can learn from it."
He smiled. “Men do not learn from history. Each generation believes itself brighter than the last, each believes it can survive the mistakes of the older ones. Each discovers each old thing and they throw up their hands and say ‘See! Look what I have found! Look upon what I know!’ And each believes it is something new."

Not to mention some great performances in Saudagar, Karma and Naya Daur. Thank you for delighting many generations of movie lovers - an actor and star alike.

I remember Dilip Saheb handling a heavy caliber bolt rifle probably made by Rigby in movie "Ganga Jamuna" was fascinated more with the rifle in his hand then the movie as a teen ager then. Of course he excelled as an actor in this particular movie and certainly raised the bar for other actors. The filmdome will miss him and his outstanding performances in many many land mark movies.
