I would be bit cautioius on step or stair excercise. My cousins Lab developed hip issues and came close to requiring surgery . I would check with a vet.

Thanks I know that labs are prone to this problem. Prolly will leave to a good gambol in the park. So far touch wood he's pretty okay.

Check out http://www.gundogsonline.com - some good articles on training for retrieving etc. works for ducks, should work for the newspaper as well... Wink

ry playing fetch with empty beer cans, as he grows maybe he can graduate to fetching you a cold one! Laughing

Great Tip Yaj you think I could train him to pull some blondes to me? ;-) But was quite a chick magnet in the park. The problem is that he's grown out of the cute size. Anyhow he's a great stress buster.

Dev

Ruby And Maggie

Both love romping around in the garden (Tea) and chasing jungle fowl and barking deers. Some how Maggie has a fear of gunshot though Ruby is just fine with it and I presume the sire being from the Army must have also been OK with it.

Thanks TenX , Sid , Yaj , Hellfire , Inder. Its such a pleasure having people praise your kids.

Hi Inder,

The next heat I shall get Ruby covered and I'll let you know if there are Chocolate ones.
I do sell but the idea is more to get them homes which have lots of dog lovers and the price covers the cost of upkeep.

Regards,

Vikas

vikas,

Lovely dogs, which part of the woods are you in... we use to live in Calcutta, father was a tea broker/taster, have wonderful memories of visits to the tea plantations in Darjeeling & Assams...

We should be getting a 8 week old lab pup shortly.. from working strain :D

We kept a 5 month Thai Ridgeback for a month for a friend. Will post some pics. Very intelligent dog, excellent nose but v difficult to train.... they thinkers & have a mind of their own

Am very keen to import some Rhodhesian Ridgebacks too ...

Hi Sat and Indian,
Nice knowing you liked the Dogs.

Sat ,
I am in Assam. Tea is the profession - and life and it the place which is good for dogs in general. My first choice were GSD's but somehow none lasted for more than 4 years hence the decesion to keep Lab retrievers. They have proved to be nice companions.

Regards

Recco any good books on training these guys. My lab is house broken and all but damned if he will listen to commands till he wants to. He will work for biscuits though ;-).
