They are getting Santa Ana winds, where wind rushes down from high pressure to the East through mountain passes and to the low pressure area along the coast. These big winds are dry and fan the flames to amazing intensity.

Indeed very worrying. Have been in constant touch with my relatives there, thankfully the wind is slowing down.

Seems the culprit was a woman who deliberately started the forest fire. She has been apprehended when heard last.
