Indians For Guns

Does anyone know a good stock maker in our country? I am in process of restoring my shotgun and am in need of a new butt!!
P.S.
Any tips of the bluing process?

If you are just going to get a butt stock made,it would not match the forend . It would help if you would mention your location as well.

Where are you located ? There are plenty of expert stock makers in India and a lot of our international shooters use them to get their stocks fitted.

Hi...its best to get the stock done from an knowledgable stock maker, otherwise specially in cace of an shotgun the whole fun is lost .... it will never align or rather wont align instantly.

What make of shotgun do you need to get restocked ? If it isn't very valuable or an important heirloom, it may be better to consider a local stockmaker to do your work. Dont know about Orissa but I would imagine in Patna, Bihar there are some stock makers who also do work for the Munger factories.

In case you have something of value, then contact Khalil in Delhi at 98 185 09491. I have personally trained him and can vouch that he is better than many of the European/British stock makers.

There is also a very good stockmaker in DehraDun but dont remember his name or no.

I agree with skeetshot... if the shot gun has collectable value its best approaching the best in the business.

Anywhere from 15 to 25 K depending on the gun. More for a sidelock or thumbhole competition stock or finer checkering.

Oak is a big word for wood, there are many varieties available and not generally used for gun stocks.He should have walnut and seasoned sheesham. If you want to use oak, provide him the blank.
