Gentlemen
I have just bought a sidelock none ejector by this maker.What type of sidelock is this really? The picture shows not my gun ,but a similar gun sold at Holt`s.

Hi Pelle,

Nice gun. Please do not mind me asking. Is it a true sidelock or a boxlock with side plates? It looks the latter to me though there are pinless sidelocks.

It was sold at Holt`s as a "Sidelock none ejector",but I wonder what is going to show up in a week,or so....That was why I posted this in the first place.......

I would not know but for some reason I think it is a sideplated boxlock than a pinless sidelock. Is it a wildfowling gun?

Or it could be 2 or 3 pin sidelock using a coil spring instead of 5/7 pin.

A simpler version than this used by the Brno ZP models.

It could be a coil spring lock,or .......I have heard that W.Baker patented a less expensive simple sidelock with leaf springs.As soon as the gun arrive,I will have a look.But somebody may have a clue....??

I think I can make out a pin at the top rear of the lock in the Holt's picture.

I have now received the gun.I removed the lockplates.It is indeed coil spring locks....The gun have original proofmarks (1925-1954).30" tubes,with 31 thou wall thickness.Weight is just a hair under 3,2 kg.2 3\4" inch chambers.Possibly made as a wildfowling gun.The serial number is 145xxx.Is there any records from Bonehill?

I have now found an old Bonehill catalogue from the 20`s.The gun is pictured as "The Bonehill Popular Hammerless Sidelock".In this catalouge it was described as No 1901 NP.Treble-bolted Wedgefast Action.All their guns was buildt to a certain standard,or could be buildt with modifications,and "exstras".My gun is a standard,2 3\4" inch chambers,bored cylinder,and full choke.This is the most informative catalouge I`ve seen.All guns,and belive me,there are many,are very well described,and there is also a fully list with all types of bits and pieces.Two fully pages with spare parts for all their guns.Hats off for C.G Bonehill!!
