Preparing for grouse / small game as the season starts in a week here. Sharing some pics of the shotgun I am planning to use as it came out of the safe for a pre-hunt cleaning.

Franz Sodia Ferlach Shotgun, 12 Ga, 28" barrels. Mod & Imp mod chokes. 2 3/4" chambers.

During my early days in India I ran across lot of British, German/Suhl & Spanish guns but never guns made in Ferlach in spite of Ferlach being a renowned gun-making center like Birmingham, Suhl, Liege and Eibar.

Lovely gun from Ferlach, Herb. I somehow missed to have seen it when you posted. What you said about Ferlach guns in India is true. I only came across very few guns from Ferlach in India. There were a double rifle and a Mauser action bolt rifle that I remember.

Herb, I'm sure you will do well, hunting with this shotgun, as the feeling of having such a beautiful firearm would have to do something for one's self-confidence. Also, I would think that you would be encouraged to do your best, not wanting to let such a work of art down. Thanks for sharing!
