Alwar Shotgun

Post by kdgj » Thu Apr 01, 2021 6:59 am

I have a Westley Richards 2" 12 bore shotgun that is the number 1 gun of a pair. It was made for the Maharaja of Alwar and delivered in 1933. I think he was removed as the Raj in the same year. I don't know when the gun was exported out of India and if the number 2 gun was exported as well. Searches on the internet do not come up with any information on these shotguns. I have requested a letter from Westley Richards. Is there somewhere I could find additional information on these guns?

Go to the WESTLEY RICHARDS website and enter the gun number in question and you will recieve the necessary history of that gun.

Thanks. I have contacted Westley Richards and am waiting on a letter. I'm more interested in finding out what happened with the number 2 and if anyone there is other information about the guns being used in India.
