TANFOGLIO,BERETTA,SMITH & WESSON

Post by Jr. » Mon Jul 04, 2022 12:09 pm

Just wanted to share the new Handguns recently purchased by my Uncle (Chacha).
He lives in Italy and has owned several hundreds of Handguns over the past 5 decades.
I have very little knowledge about the undermentioned Firearms.
The description is very simple as written over whatsapp, by him.
He is not aware that I am posting it, or would have been much more detailed.
He has tremendous knowledge and 1st hand experience.
The Serial Numbers have been blanked out by me (old habit).

TANFOGLIO
Tanfoglio 9mm 18+1 Rounds with Aluminum Grips, adjustable Rear Sight with Front Fiber Optic Sights.
A Super Trigger for SA and DA.
Full Steel with extremely precise machining for enhanced precision and performance.
Very easy to do double taps.

BERETTA
This is a new Military Model in 9mm with a 15+1 Rounds capacity.
Have purchased it merely for being nostalgic. Old Faithful.

SMITH & WESSON
New Performance Center Hunter 44mag with a 7.5”Compensated Barrel and a Top Rail for any type of Scope.
Trigger is tuned by the P.C at the S&W arms industry. Very smooth.
Has beautiful Rosewood Grips but not for shooting.
Have ordered the Hogue Rubber Grips which I should be receiving in the next ten days.

The Beretta is a 92FS,
Tanfoglio is a Stock lll special and
The S&W is a 629 Hunter Special Dual Tone.

I would have liked to post the photos of each individual Handgun under its individual description.
Unable to do so, am not proficient at this.

Regards,
Jr.

A very tasteful and varied collection of handguns, my compliments. 👌

Does he use them for competitive shooting?

Cheers

Those are some very nice handguns, Jr. i haven't shot a 92F or a Tanfoglio, but I have busted some caps with my brothers M29 S&W, and I'm sure that your Uncle has some fun with that one! Thanks for sharing this nice collections with us.

Thank you 032bore,AgentDoubleS and timmy,
No he does not own a Manurhin.
Yes he does Competitive Shooting. He is 71 years old.
I quote his reply
Quote
"I cannot compete in any international competition because of my age.
But have done some amateur competition and have won the last 4 recently
And so the club president has requested me to be a range marshal instead of being a competitor.
All this to encourage the young blood cause the last time was quite demoralizing for the runner up,I was 63 points ahead.
However I agree for its right for the sport and I just enjoy shooting.
Saturday will try the new gun and let you know my opinion.
Tiro Rapido Sportivo,a sort of IPSC and the only difference is that all the targets are set in front of you,
In various setups and one engages the targets always going in a semicircle ahead of you and not turning back as in the IPSC.
Only stock guns can be used with a major factor and so 9mm is the most common.
No weight limits but only the mag capacity of 15.
Lately a new federation has been established-lnternational Defense Pistol Association(IDPA),
Where the gun must enter in a rectangular box including the magazine and must weigh under 1300grams.
So here my new Beretta comes in and come what may,
I intend participating in a Regional Competition as an amateur.
So let’s see how things work out, here besides shooting ability,
Must have lot of stamina cause you have to run from one stage to other
And shoot as rapid as possible.
All targets missed earn you negative points.
So no misses and all bulls eye. Not easy."
Unquote.
He has gone ahead and purchased another Beretta
Quote
"l have just collected my new Beretta 92x Performance Defensive and traded back the Tanfoglio,
Cause it was too heavy to compete in the IDPA and hence the Beretta which fits all the requirements".
Unquote
I am posting photos of the 92X
