Post by casual shooter » Thu Aug 29, 2013 10:29 am

Dear friends,
I own an Arminius, now i am getting a immaculate Colt 1911, .45 cal, US army issue.
please post your opinions regarding pros and cons for this change.
and lastly how much i must pay for it in Maharashtra.
In future if the Govt bans the possession what will happen to the weapon.
regards,
PS is .45 ACP a NPB in the entire country ?

Handguns capable of chambering & firing .45 ACP ammunition is a Prohibited Bore in India .

By the way , who is selling you an immaculate Colt 1911 Army issue in Nasik ?
It's okay , if you disagree with me .

It is one of the best hand guns to own.

The list of PB calibers does not vary between States. I'd stay away from this, since YOU will be breaking the law by possessing a PB weapon on a NPB license.

I had asked a similar question and the value was 2-2.5 if i recall. If it is immaculate maybe more.

Lot of people have .45 ACP as NPB in Mumbai.
I would rather hit my target gently than miss hard.

If it is not NPB in Maharastra , then it's Prohibited Bore , and so your dealer got PB bore firearm from somewhere in Punjab , and trying to sell it to a civilian .

Dear CS,

PB or NPB, the best option is go to OC Arms of your licensing authority and have a check with him/her.
Since once it is endorsed on your license by him post inspection, it is his problem not yours, technically.

But check authenticity and condition of weapon.

45 is a good choice, can prove to be a wrist breaker.

Cheers....
