Post by boxerkesu » Mon Jan 04, 2021 1:35 am

I am aspiring Shooter and have a license too. I want to know that can I have a normal pistol like a civilian do? I was aspiring Shooter in .22 rifle prone event. And one more thing I would like to know as the renowned Shooter (in rifle) can import weapon, can they import .22 pistol too like glock 44 etc?

as far as i know you have to be a big boy shooter to ensure that His Holiness Government Bureaucrat allows an import however a chennai firm is making Glocks in India i suggest waiting for those

What sort of a license do you have? Is it for sporting weapon or for self-defense?

Re- can renowned shots in .22 rifle also import .22 pistol like Glock 44 - No, they can't. Renowned shots can only import firearms for the category they achieved said status for. Also, the firearm they import needs to adhere to both ISSF and NRAI regulations. Glock 44 technically isn't a sporting weapon, so, regardless of one's sports status, it can't be imported. Ditto that for centerfire weapons as well.

That being said, if a Glock 44 is what you want, then you don't need to worry about importing it as they are now being manufactured in India and will be (hopefully) making their Indian civilian debut this year. In fact, you may have far more choices if things go well :)

Hope this helps.
