There were a number of firearms made in .455 bore -- indeed, there are different cartridges having that bore, for both semi-automatic pistols and revolvers.

You are going to need to share more information about the gun you are asking about, if someone is to help you and answer your question. For instance, please tell us about the gun: is it a revolver or semi-automatic, what inscriptions are on the gun, how long is the barrel, and any other details you can share.

As it is, your description is like asking us to tell you about a vehicle that has four tires. Tell us more about the gun that is of interest to you.

Nowadays, it's quite common for 9mm semiautos using the Browning short recoil system to have a lug on the end of the barrel that locks the action by fitting into the ejection port, rather than having a separate lug or lugs that lock to recesses in the top of the slide. This interesting modification eliminates some machining and allows compact pistols to be made more easily.

Ian doesn't show it in this episode, but the Webley semiauto is the earliest pistol I've seen with this feature that uses a lug on the barrel to lock into the ejection port.
