It looks "Ruger-ish" to me.

Is shooting at 50 meters really that big of a deal?

More information needs to be published for this -- it could be good news, or not-so-good news -- or it might be another one of those "sweet-bye-and-bye", "pie-in-the-sky" announcements. Let's hope not, as there have been so many of those lately.

Six years ago, I first heard that IOF will launch side opening revolver. Now private companies have launched side opening revolvers and new licenses issued are negligible, IOF are not going to find any buyers.

It looks good but why not introduce a better self-defence calibre than the .32?

IF this is some kind of copy of the Ruger, I'm wondering which frame they might have used?

If it's the LCR size, that is a 5 shot in 38 Spl/357, or a 6 shot in 32 Federal Magnum

If it's the GP100, that is large enough for a 6 round 38 Spl/357 cylinder.

So, even if it's a small frame size, they can still have a 6 round cylinder if they stay with 32: all they need to do is to have the right metallurgy to handle the higher pressure of 32 H&R Magnum, or better yet, 32 Federal Magnum.

Then, the rub comes when they need to provide these higher power rounds. I'm not sure whether anyone in India makes 38 Spl or 357 Magnum ammunition, and if that's true, then the issue is getting imported ammo, no matter which way they chamber the gun.

Modern ammo using modern bullets, like 32 Federal Magnum self-defense loads, would mean that very little penalty in bullet performance would be available in 32 Federal Magnum, and with a small 6 shot revolver. if one couldn't get or didn't want to pay for imported ammo, they could still shoot 32 S&W.

Hopefully, they will make the gun able to handle modern, high pressure ammunition, and even more hopefully, it will actually come to market as a reasonably well-made gun that is also priced reasonably. Unfortunately, these hopes have not been met over the last few years, in light of spectacular announcements that get everyone excited. Here's hoping that this turns out different -- again.

Imported ammo prices are very high so keeping that in mind they go with ammo that is manufactured in India

Won't most 32S&W L reach 50 yards, being able to hit the target may be another thing though. Doesn't have anything super new as a revolver. Even the barrel is just a tad over 3 inches. But wishing for a 38 special/ 357 mag or 32 H& R mag is just wishful thinking. Then again we do have a 3006 rifle also made by the IOFB. So wonders may not cease.

I was at defence expo in Gandhinagar last year and had opportunity to check it out. It felt good sturdy, trigger pull was relatively light compared to other IOF revolvers and cylinder swing felt smoother than that of 0.22 revolver.
I received my license couple of days back and was exploring options available in revolver. I hope they will maintain same quality as one at display in the product they deliver.
