You are absolutely correct. It is a good rifle only because there are no other options available. Compared to other products of IOF, this rifle is much better. But it cannot compete against even the cheapest of rifles available in other countries.

The price is too much for the end product. If this rifle was available for even half the price it would have been still acceptable.

I would like to rephrase what , i said above.
Just the bolt is hard to lock , it can not question the whole quality. It may have been there to ensure precision shooting. However, it's just an assertion.
Also, In overseas, this rifle will never worth more than ₹30000/-.

Yes Right. When firing pin is dis assemble,it looks like ,the product is an output of manual machining. Very cheap.

The IOF should outsource the manufacturing to a private firm and sell it under IOF brand.

Rifle is as good as the person who shoots it. There should be more emphasis on learning to shoot than putting all the responsibility on the gun for not shooting well. Once a shooter achieves a certain level then the weapon performance comes into consideration.

IOF 30-06 have very good accuracy. Chamber is cut like match rifles very little tolerance. For chambering cartridges you have apply lots of
force in closing bolt, ammo designed for army rifles have slightly longer neck because army rifles have more tolerance in
chamber for better reliability for these cartridge's like ppu and other FMJ you will need hammer to close the bolt.
hunting rifle ammo like S&B,winchester works fine you will still needs to apply force on bolt but not that much and match grade ammo in
3006 is not available in India. With changed stock, peep sights,165 grain good ammo and some other modification it will get you
renowned shot title in 300 meters prone of course you will need to practice. target looks same from 50 meters and 300 meters you
can practice with 50 meters .22 rifles also. NRAI also issues import permits for .22LR rifles to big bore 300 meter shooters.
I also have iof 30 its poor quality. receiver cracked while assembling. Wood, alloy are are off poorest quality.
Magazines are harder to load.I got it for 85k in 2011 at dealer price don't know what's the price now over 110,115 its bad choice.

No. Its not an exact copy. Some places the screw sizes are different. Magazines and bolts are not interchangeable due slight machining differences. IOF is careful not to get sued over patent rights. However, the design is similar. IOF did the same thing with its 0.22, which is a direct rip-off from the CZ 452.

Is there any cheaper alternative? I don't think so. So obviously affordability made it as the best so far
