Ya they should start making 30 06 locally as how long can Indians depend on Imported ammo.

Yes, There is a huge ammunition shortage all over india, to reduce ammunition shortage i think IOF/RFI should produce 30.06 ammunition for rifle owner,

KF had produced a batch of 30-06 ammo in the late 90's. However that was about the time NRAI sold a large batch of S&B 30-06 ammo. The price of the S&B ammo was substantially less than KF ammo and as a result that (KF cartridges) did not really sell.

Now a days, Foreign Cartridge price hike so much, may be due to import issue, so, i think most of the 30.06 owner look for cheap cartridge. also to reduce ammunition shortage producing IOF/RFI cartridge is must.i think Most of the owner is also looking forward to it.

Will have to see how the quality of KF 30 06 will be, as the KF 12 bore ammo is not that good, the old KF special 12 bore ammo was of good standards.

Right now in Agra S&B 30.06 147 grain FMJ costs around 300 per bullet. And 8×57 mm 196 grain FMJ costs around 350-400 per bullet. My father owns a Orbendoff Mauser in 8mm and Grandfather owns a remington model 700 Bdl in 30.06 but dont even have 20 round per rifle. Will be a great relief for people like us if KF starts manufacturing ammo in india but the quality of ammo should be good.

I know of an incident where a KF rifle cartridge upon firing it misfired and when they checked the cartridge smoke was oozing out of the precussion cap. The precussion cap had cracked.

A small look at the quality of Kf ammunition -
I triwd firing around 8 rounds with my fathers .32 GSF MK1 PISTOL 2002 Model last year at a shooting range. All 8 bullets were of Kf around 4-5 years old. Only 3 shots fired with any complains. Their were a couple of feeding issues and around 2 to 3 missfires. So KF will have to improve their quality of ammunition. Specially the primer , gunpowder and the rim part because after 5-7 years KF ammuntion seems to missfire every second round. (All based on personal experience. Your experience may varry)

Rightly said, KF will have to up their quality especially the primers and the fit and finish of cartridge case specially the rim. Im not sure if the gunpowder used is good or bad.
Misfiring in KF is a common issue even in brand new stock of ammunition.

If KF come to market with quality ammunition it will be very grateful for us 😊

KF factory Pune is taking booking and many dealers have applied for the same so it’s not a rumour.

Two Questions Vineet sir
1- Till when can i expect of KF's ammunition to be in the
market
2- Are their any plans made by KF for prouduction of ammunition in other calibers ( like .45 , .380 , 8×57 , 7×57 .270 , 9.3×63 ). Will KF manufacturr any of the above given ammunition??
