Someone is saying that IOF is producing 30.06 ammunition, is this true ? IOF is Making 30.06 Sporting Rifle, but till now no ammunition production from IOF, rumor about producing 30.06 ammunition, is these correct ?
KF factory Pune is taking booking and many dealers have applied for the same so it’s not a rumour.
Two Questions Vineet sir
1- Till when can i expect of KF's ammunition to be in the
market
2- Are their any plans made by KF for prouduction of ammunition in other calibers ( like .45 , .380 , 8×57 , 7×57 .270 , 9.3×63 ). Will KF manufacturr any of the above given ammunition??
Vineet, I too had a question, what would be the approximate retail price of a IOF .30-06 cartridge?

A small look at the quality of Kf ammunition -
I triwd firing around 8 rounds with my fathers .32 GSF MK1 PISTOL 2002 Model last year at a shooting range. All 8 bullets were of Kf around 4-5 years old. Only 3 shots fired with any complains. Their were a couple of feeding issues and around 2 to 3 missfires. So KF will have to improve their quality of ammunition. Specially the primer , gunpowder and the rim part because after 5-7 years KF ammuntion seems to missfire every second round. (All based on personal experience. Your experience may varry)
Rightly said, KF will have to up their quality especially the primers and the fit and finish of cartridge case specially the rim. Im not sure if the gunpowder used is good or bad.
Misfiring in KF is a common issue even in brand new stock of ammunition.

Yes, IOF do have problem of missfire in brand new stock also. Recently I have bought box of 25 new cart. From that 9 missfired.

I took a chance and picked up some KF made 30-06 ammo from a Mumbai dealer a few years ago where he had admitted the stock was pretty old. Most of the ammo misfired as expected but did not matter much as the investment in it wasn't much. I had assumed and rightly so that the Berdan primed old loads do corrode the metal but seldom fail to fire, but I was wrong in this case.

well, it was long time ago, around Rs.50/ i guess when bought from dealer.. He must've got hold of the stock that was old already I guess. The price itself guaranteed the misfires.

If shaktiman make 30 06 carts. Then they would be far better than IOF.
