Shahid,

The 6.5x54 is THE classic Mannlicher Schonauer round. I don;t know if you would get ammunition for it in India but it should certainly be availabel in Dubai from importers. Hang on to ther ifle! Theya re masterpieces that deserve to be treasured.

Do post pictures whenever you can.

Cheers!

Shahid,
Time to read penpusher's posts on import of ammo-get some ammo down from the gulf and resurrect your beauty...would love to handle it.There's a 9.3 MS in Lucknow-story goes : Given by great white hunter to local hunting hotshot , many many years ago-at the Lko railway platform while GWH was transiting .They had been in correspondenmce earlier and this was a gift. How much salt to take , remains an enigma, however, have seen and handled it.Owner also curse the plight of unaffordable ammo.

GWH's were not in the habit of distributing MS rifles just because somebody wrote to them.Or we would have been upto our ears in them.Even GWH's had a budget to live by and then there was the little matter of the WIFE

Maybe they did.Perhaps the gentleman who got the MS 9.3 stood at the platform and the GWH threw the rifle out of the window to him while his train passed by.But why and for what purpose :? Gore logon kee bat gore log hee jane

A friend from Delhi has volunterred help. He has bullets and casing or 6.5 mm x 57. This can be tooled and necked down to make 6.5 x 54 cartridges. Let's see how it works out to be. The Mannlicker rifle is a treasure. The engravings on it of sporting action are a treat to view. Will post pics ASAP.

It is with Muraad in Delhi. You and Kesu arrange with him to get it made for 6.5 mm x 57 and for him 6.5 mm x 54. This is strictly a local affair where I am not a party. You guys do manage to arrange quite a few things between yourself then why not reloading cartridges. Do it.
