The 5.56/.223 doesnt really offer anything over the .222 or .222 RM for any non-military applications.
I really do not see the value of the caliber, and no differences between them, even though I have shot all three calibers.
For longer range applications I would much rather have a 6.5 caliber, while for accuracy its tough to beat the 6mm BR.
I dislike the AR type weapons as well, too finicky and need to be kept absolutely clean. Give me an AK any day..

well yes u have to maintain the weapon pretty frequently but i had the good fortune to poof off 200+ rds in 5.56 at a go and i did not face any issues . of course as you pointed out the subsequent up keep needs to be meticulous.

My Vz-858 hasnt been cleaned in a year and a half. Right now its with the gunsmith for some modifications. Will post pics when I get it back.
