Hi Sudesh!
I am new to this forum and am interested in buying a .30-06 rifle. Do we have a waiting period for the same or are they readily available. And what are they priced at? Is ammunition of .30-06 costly than that of .315?

The IOF .30-06 is readily available in the market with the dealers. They are priced around 1.10 lakh.
The ammo of .315 is for Rs.60 and that of .30-06 is for Rs.70. Imported ammo for .30-06 of S&B is for Rs.80
and ammo from Winchester is for Rs.180.

Not a gun - a rifle . the difference is painfully learnt by a few . For example in Leon Uris's famous novel about US marines , a marine calls a rifle " a gun" . The staff seargent sargeant makes him hold his dick in his left hand and the rifle in his right and makes him recite
This is my rifle
This is my gun
This one is for fighting
This one's for fun

the whole day
ROTFL ROTFL ROTFL

p.s : this post is just for laughs . I am sure your slip was a typo .

Joydeep.. last I checked Leon Uris didnt write about the marines. The quote is actually from a movie, specifically Full Metal Jacket.

However back on topic.. Sudesh, I believe you spent quite a bit of time modding the gun et al. Why did you sell?

Do you know some dealer who has stock of .30-06. I enquired from a few and they all asked me to call by 2010 August end or 2010 Sept begining. Please suggest!
