Monsoon Mania begins...

Dear Comrades,

Dawn of Saturday turned out to be a beautiful one with heavy showers which came to a halt by late evening. I really become ecstatic as monsoons in Mumbai make me forget hardships of this bustling city. After coaxing from my wife & my lil angel, we decided to visit Kanheri Caves yet again and what a trip it turned out to be. Fighting against lashes & trying to save my camera from getting wet, I managed to click a few shots which am glad to be sharing with my friends here. It was shot with Canon XS 20D (prosumer) and this time not on auto :). Most of the pics were clicked with one hand as I had to manuever my umbrella with the other against the strong winds 8). Hope you like them as much as I enjoyed clicking them.

Hi Olly,

Even i went there on sunday morning. magnificent place. perfect to visit in monsoons. saw indian spotted deer just beside the road on our way back. it was a sunday morning well spent in a long time.
sorry no pictures as we didn't take our cameras as it was raining and we were on bikes.

Thank you rraju - western ghats are at its best during monsoons - Lonavala, Lavasa, Mahabaleshwar are some places you should not miss going to around this time of the year.

Thank you hunterjack. I wanted to avoid Sunday considering it will be crowded. However I dont think it rained as heavily as it did on Saturday.

Which part of Mumbai do you stay in?

Rup

Hi Olly,

I heard from a colleague who had come down from Delhi as to how the capital is sizzling and how happy she was here in Mumbai, enjoying rains with a single malt on the rocks

it was crowded but not as much as i expected it to be. plus it did rained less compared to saturday. well i stay in borivali west. but you would be surprised to know that i visited national park almost 4 yrs ago. but this time im making it a point to visit atleast 3 times during the monsoons. next time i want to try the shilonda trail and maybe a dip in the river
