Post by xl_target » Tue Sep 24, 2019 12:47 am

Pietta 1860 Colt Army Model Cap and Ball revolver with color case-hardened steel frame and ramrod
The grips are Walnut.
The pouch by the belt holds a spare cylinder.
The knife is a "Patriot" by L.T. Wright

Nice! How does it shoot? Are you using regular black powder or one of the modern substitutes?

Lovely piece of kit there, XL! Congratulations! Really cool stuff. Do tell us how they shoot and if possible a range video? Thanks for sharing.

I use Triple Seven FFFG.
It is a Black Powder substitute.

The pistol shoots very well. It zeroes in at about 75 yards and so is about four inches high at 21 ft.

I did a post on it HERE in 2014
I just posted the photo in the photo section because it turned out well.

Great photo xl_target, very professional! (y)

Phew, that old thread from 2014 brings back a lot of cool memories of Clint Eastwood and Spaghetti Westerns and of course, our visit to your friendly neighborhood Cabelas! :D

Russianshooter,
They are considered antiques in the USA also.... and no license is required to purchase one.
This includes Flintlock and Percussion Cap handguns and rifles.

You can walk into a store and purchase it like you would purchase a gallon of milk.
