Hi Blade Aficionados!
This is a bit late in coming…but then as requested by some of you I had promised to post the various profiles of my Stag Horn handle knife in different angles ….here goes!!!
To begin with as I had mentioned earlier it’s comparatively easier to work with WOOD & MICARTA, as they are easier to file / sand / grind to give them a definite profile…
In comparison Stag Horns have ridges, uneven taper and also sometimes come with a semi-hard core! Hence all the above mentioned inputs demand extreme patience, steadiness of hand and the selection of the right grit of abrasives & tools to work with. I had to use a DREMEL, Angle Grinder, Bench Grinder and Flat Files to work on the contours!
Daunting / challenging & time consuming though, the end result turned out to be quite satisfactory.
