Guys, Pardon my Impatience...But is this ever gonna materialize ????

We blame OFB for the delay in introducing the new Steel Frame .22 Revolver....See the Sad State of Affairs here....Even the Design Phase is not Over  !!!

Best Option would be a Poll to decide who will Design the Knife.....

GO ahead and take the lead dude.. you do the polls and get us to decide :)

I guess that the cumulative input from everyone should reach a stage enough to become an impetus for this task to reach certainty.
I am sure you are doing your bit by pushing it, but we need a little more strength in direction and decision... Hope I am clear dude...

TenX, I am a just a Trainee...There are Gurus/Veterans here with 100 times my Knowledge whom I am sure will be able to decide upon a Design within a Week !!!

However, it is for sure that everybody's design inputs cannot be satisfied...Let the Veterans Decide....

For anything to materialize Sacrifices are unaviodable !!!

Whatever, be may be the Final Decision, I will be glad place my order for one unless it looks like a Kitchen Knife....

Not a bad idea at all :)
Maybe the blade could be made a wee bit smaller too :)

Jonah's Bowie Rocks......I will be happy his design will be accepted...As TenX said, The Blade length may have to be reduced by an Inch or Two..Well , Thatz upto Jonah to decide.....

Ironic isn't it? Considering the original Bowie looked like a giant carving knife

Dunno if this is still an active post. But I had some free time today and thought I'll contribute a design.

I got the basic sketch of the knife online, but made major changes to the design. Here's the end product:

Image

It'll be a full metal construction with provision for inserts in the handle if preferred. The blade is attached using flush fitted allen heads. This provides an option of having multiple blades for one handle. The blade attach point will have grooves cut on the inside along which the blade will be slid and attached using the screws.

I dont know if this is a feasible design. But I'm going to try and see if someone can get it made..

Even if the different blade idea is something too difficult to make, the idea can be chucked for a fixed blade design.

In case anybody's curious, this is what I used as the donor image:

Comments welcome!!

Novel indeed.. but practical?

IMHO, the blade can be made more sturdy if it has a branch that inserts into the handle as well, along with the screws... This may give it overall strength than just depending on the poor little small screws to take all the runt :)

Might be well to remember that the camel is a horse designed by a commitee! Cheers.
