Hi Mack The Knife; Your older posts on stripping apart a Byrd Cara Cara ("Anatomy of a folder' I think) and the restortaion of the Old FS Commando Knife were as informative and interesting reads. Wonder If you can pull those out... Sure every one would love reading those again...

Entirely depends on what sort of 'archery kit' you want. Most of us have to go the import route and add the items as and when we can afford to import. BTW, the same applies to the KME sharpner you PM'd me about. Kindly start a new thread if you wish to discuss this further. No PMs regarding such matters please.

What is the diameter of the shaft?

Just my bit for the core guys who get up to to the FITA comps (target archery), never cut any Easton shaft : X7s , XX75, or Carbon with a pipe cutter or a hacksaw or otherwise as this is bound to change the characteristics of the alloy and can cause stress which can result in the shaft splitting/bending or other. One can see the Easton site for tips.
The usual age old method is to use a Easton arrow cutter which we have at the club in Bangalore and most other archery centers in India. This is a Easton cutter witha abrasive cut off wheel at about 3k rpm and cuts a shaft in secs and will not require any other procedure other than installing the head.
Those who do not have access to this can use a standard angle grinder with a cut-off wheel and carefully do it by hand at right angles and then grind away the burr on the side of the wheel.
Can help sizing shafts for those in Bangalore at the Kanterava Stadium.

I tried to fletch 12 arrows and it is not so easy. Out of the 12 only 4 are at a nice symmetric 120deg. The rest have all sort of acute and obtuse angles.

I am going to try again but the Nawab of Fraser town refuses to lend his arrow fletching tool.

Is somebody listening?
