Hi,

I am looking to procure a compound bow and arrows for time pass. I checked on the net and did not find anything relevant in india but did saw a lot of good stuff in US. I tried to order them online through some websites and they responded that import of bows is not permitted. I am not able to find anything on ebay also.

Does anyone know of any website through which i can import a compound bow? or Does anyone know of any company in Bangalore or near by which sells compound bows or imports them for you??

i travel all over the world so getting one myself is also not an issue. But i am not sure on the customs policies. Can i get a bow through checked in baggage?? i had got some hunting knives and fishing rods in the past without any problems..

Any info in these regards will be highly appreciated.

Thanks...

Importing bows into India is not prohibited.Getting one with you when you travel next would be the best option.Avoid carrying /ordering arrows in the same shipment.
These guys offer some compound bows http://www.gsmithco.com/archery3.htm
Decathlon has only recurves right now if i'm not mistaken.
If you want recurves, this is a great site to order from http://www.3riversarchery.com/Index.asp

Yaj.

Has anyone had any luck importing archery supplies? I just had a replacement longbow string from http://www.60xcustomstrings.com get sent back to the states because of customs but they didn't really give a reason. It is such a small purchase but has turned into a large hassle for me.
