hello sir/ madam i would like ot know the ammo quota for 12 bore single barrel breech loading gun( Visco special) and license is of form V issued for crop protection from wild animals way back in 2010 and our farm is at small remote village near sullia taluka Dakshina Kannada district karnataka . On the license it is written as 150 at a time and 375 per year, and 2016 new rules say 100 at a time and 200 per year. But in 2020 my dad got 150 at a time ( since he owns the license ). I am bit confused now. so my questions are ,
1) Is that 100 / 200 for riffles and handguns , since ours is smooth bore ?
2) Since our license is of Form V does it got different rule
3) Or this ammo quota rules differs from state to state and the Arm we use .
I kindly request fellow license holders to clear my doubts regarding ammo quota .

Thank you , Stay safe .

The 100/200 ammo quantity mentioned in Arms Rules 2016 came into force in 2016. You were allowed 150/375 quantity in 2010.

Because the government did not reduce the quantity mentioned in your license, after the Arms Rules 2016 came into force, your ammo quota will be counted as what is mentioned in your license, not what is written in the rules. In your case 150/375 will be counted as your yearly quota.

Also the rules says that government can allow higher quantity than 100/200 if the government thinks it's required so it's not that 100/200 is any 'laxman rekha' that can not be crossed.
