BSA Cadet Major - Need help

Post by swajan » Wed Feb 16, 2011 9:59 pm

I own a BSA Cadet having Sl No. B-51126 (make 1946), I am restoring the same. The front site is missing. Any one having one either can spare it out or at least if can provide me a dimensional drawing it will be of great help.
By the way I searched a lot in google, but failed to get any positive result.

That looks like a dovetail based Foresight. you can actually make one yourself.

Hi Swajan,

I think the complete description of your rifle would be BSA Cadet Major Air Rifle (Mfr 1946)

Making a foresight yourself (or having it made) would probably be the best/simplest thing to do, as suggested by snIPer.

But if you must have the original part, maybe you could try emailing John Knibbs Int'l and see if they can provide you with the required spare parts?

Oh yes!! ckkalyan
I already written them. And snIPer is quite right, it is dovetail. But to make it, I need the drawing, which I am looking at.

As an example of overcoming adversity, Karoly Takacs has few peers. He was part of Hungary’s world champion pistol-shooting team in 1938, when an army grenade exploded, crippling his right hand. Ten years later, having taught himself to shoot with his left, he won two gold medals in the rapid-fire class.

Dear ckkalyan,
I stand corrected, thanks.
I will be soon posting the pic of "site". I have started some work on it, as I am a impatient person by nature :) so, can't resist myself start working on it.
Let me see how my work turn out to be, give me time by early next week.

Dear Swajan,
I also own a BSA cadet .177” and I need help in getting spare parts like barell, mainspring, rear sight, stock etc they are available on airgunspares.com UK but I am a bit hesitant in ordering the parts as they might get stuck in customs.
Kindly share your experience of importing spare parts of your cadet and do post a pic of your cadet, looking forward
to your reply.

Regards
Gurbir
