BTW, has anyone gotten around to locating any gunsafe manufacturers in India? I was informed that these are made in India for export... Anyone have more info?

Abhijeet, look up the Yellow Pages. The same manufacturers who make those small electronic safes for hotel rooms can also build you a custom gun safe. A few months back I bought a small safe for the house. I casually asked the manufacturer if he would make a gun safe to my specs. I was certain his answer would be a 'no' at the mention of the word 'gun' but he surprised me with his willingness to build one.

a cheaper alternative
every city u'll find steel almirah manufacturers
they make all the godrej look alike almirahs , file cabenits etc
these guys can definately make one to ur specification
