crack in .22 LR rifle butt

Post by faisal » Mon Feb 15, 2010 2:41 pm

Hi everybody.
I got a license for NPB rifle few months back. I was visiting this forum for last couple of months as a guest not a registered member. I read and learned a lot about rifles and decided to go for .22 rifle hence it was my priority also. finally I got one brno .22 LR Model 2E looking in very good condition. day before yesterday I picked it out for oiling and found that the butt is cracked from the point where the screw is tightened for pad. i m sure somebody could help me here to advice for a good gunsmith in Delhi, also I need a advice that should i keep it after repairing or go for another one?

regards

Faisal,

please post pics of your gun for members to advice you better or you can talk to "Shamsudin arms", their address must be there in the dealers section.

.22 LR - especially Brno's are hardy firearms. If the barrel and action are in good order the stock can always be changed. My advise is to get the stock repaired, if not changed - if you are changing the stock consider getting it bedded for better accuracy. I have a Savage accutrigger .22LR that I now get hole in hole groups at 25 mtrs with Winchester subs.
