Because there are broadly 3 types of weapons.. Shot gun, hand gun and rifle having different applicability.

This might actually be relatively difficult to explain just to the general public. Especially those who have already made up their minds.

It will be interesting to follow this case. Article 14 and 300A have great value and scope.

Unfortunately, that ship has long sailed. Now the guns one can hold legally are reduced to 2.

Arms Act Amendment is already passed and Arm is limited to 2 in one license for an individual.. home the same is maintained atleast..

Can’t we file a PIL against this act?

They don't understand that reducing the No of arms in the licence will effect ordinance factory weapon sales.

They are least concerned about civilian sale from OFB.
Only take away from this incident is understanding the importance of law like USA's Second Amendment. Doesnt matter if it were the British or so called free governments after that, each government irrespective of their political alliance has always curbed RKBA in India just to make sure that population always remains weak. Its quite interesting to note that the same politicians very easily get licences for themselves and hundreds for their people (maybe that's why we often see their children brandishing their legal firearms in YT vids). Its more about understanding the absolute necessity of RKBA law with no infringement possible by any government which may want to restrict this basic right. The anti gun lobby in India is so strong and backed by even some people who would otherwise seem to be pro RKBA(They want firearms for themselves but not others). I have found most gun owners and gun enthusiasts to be more reasonable, logical and tolerant than people who keep on ranting about how bad the guns are and why guns will lead to mass killing the day government allows easy access to licences. Open up your eyes, there are shootings happening daily in this country with firearms way more advanced than what a licence holder has! Why is it so that governments wont allow people to have firearms for their own personal safety in peace time but would force people to become cannon fodder in wartime? If in future we undergo a full scale war situation I am pretty sure the same government will force each and every able bodied citizen to carry a firearm.

We live in a country where if some miss-happening takes place cause of illegal fire arms illegaly kept by gangster and other antisocial elements then local police comes up with a "MINDBLOWING IDEA" of getting "LEGAL" "LICENSED" arms surrendered for a month or two untill the dispute is resloved. I'm keen to know how will this secure the civillians where they have surrendered their licensed weapons and people with illegal arma are roaming around.

Least steps are taken to stop the free-flow for illegal weapons whereas most steps are taken to keep the civilians suppressed and to keep us away from the right of witholding weapons for one's safety and security.

We are running on a Arms-Act derived from the one implemented by Britishers which for obvious reasons was not made for betterment of Civillians.

Hope one day situations will change. India too will develop a better gun culture where one can carry arms for safety and security. We can just hop
