The result of a restrictive arms licensing regime

Post by mundaire » Thu Jan 17, 2008 11:49 pm

The nearest hospital is 62km away, and the nearest police station is 20km away. Villagers stock illegal firearms at home to defend themselves against the marauding dacoits and kidnappers.

This is what happens when the arms licensing process ensures that common people are denied the basic right to defend themselves.... it makes criminals out of regular law abiding citizens who are forced to stock illegal firearms - as the alternative is simply to lie back while they are robbed/ beaten up - or worse!!

Cheers!
