Dear Comrades,

I just sent an email to Mr Malhotra with a cc to Mrs Swaraj, Mrs Gandhi & Mr Jaitley. Thanks Abhijeet once again for making the task as easy as ctrl c + ctrl v.

Hope this helps the cause

Should I forward the same mail to the list mentioned above?

Regards,
Shadow

Thanks for sending the email, yes please do forward this email to above people, rather you can resend the same email to Mr. Mehlotra, with CC to above people, as well as any more number you think fit, since this concerns "each and every citizen" of the country, hence even if you theoretically CC to each and every citizen of the country, there is nothing wrong about it. It will make the MHA to take the email seriously. It would be great if you can send, hard-copy by registered/speedpost to the concerned deputy secretary Mr. Melhotra and CC hard copies to Hon'able Prime Minister, Mrs Swaraj, Mrs Gandhi & Mr Jaitley, then nothing like it.

I doubt if the Communist parties/ International Organization for Human Right Protection/ Centre for Civil Society/ Civil Society would be sympathetic to our cause. I personally would leave those ones out.

A very comprehensive and detailed objection to the proposed amendment, as usual our "Babus" are trying to create a situation intended to harrass the common folks so that their palms can be greased. It's quite obvious the small time frame for objections is to hastily push through this half baked idea and for exempting VIP's from the provisions of the act. Why they don't include experts in the first instance is beyond comprehension.

Goodboy, I have made the changes to Vikram's doc and the changed document is available at http://indiansforguns.com/right_to_protection.pdf - please request all to download the changed doc.

Can someone also please verify if the MHA followed procedure and published any advertisement in any widely circulated national daily, seeking public opinion?

Goodboy, I have made the changes to Vikram's doc and the changed document is available at right_to_protection.pdf - please request all to download the changed doc.
Thanks for updating, now I am not getting old file at http://indiansforguns.com/right_to_protection.pdf

I am trying to find out if the said draft was published by MHA in leading newspapers, by the way can anyone tell what constitute "leading" newspapers as per MHA/GOI?

I am attaching modified file here, please see if it is all-right, if yes you can replace it with this one.
Seems like a browser cache problem, try forcing a fresh reload by using ctrl+F5 OR clear your browser cache OR use an alternate browser to verify (e.g. Firefox in stead of Internet Explorer). Should do the trick.

Cheers!

Abhijeet and penpusher,

That document you two fine gentlemen prepared is a work of art and I mean it.I take my hat off and await in the queue patiently to shake your hands.Thank you both.

I only wish the people in the policy making positions share your wisdom.Lets at least make them aware of our concerns.

Why not forward the documents to all the MPs,Party Heads, regional and national, including the Left? There is nothing to lose.Let us send emails and hard copies to all political parties and s many MPs as we can.And let us not waste time.

Thank you all.

Best-
Vikram

Jeff Cooper advocated four basic rules of gun safety:
1) All guns are always loaded. Even if they are not, treat them as if they are.
2) Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy.
3) Keep your finger off the trigger till your sights are on the target.
4) Identify your target, and what is behind it.
