Beretta and Kalyani Group about to enter into JV.

Post by panzernain » Fri Oct 13, 2017 1:03 pm

Beretta and Kalyani are set to enter into Joint venture for production and transfer of technology. The JV will cater to the armed forces in India. My question is that once we have such manufacturing companies like IWI and beretta active in India, would some benefit eventually come towards the civilian arms sector in India?

BETUL: Kalyani Group and Fabbrica D'armi Pietro Beretta S.p.A, Italy, part of Beretta Defence Technologies (BDT), are in advance level of discussions to form a strategic partnership for providing state-of-the-art small arms for the Indian Armed Forces.

Baba Kalyani, Chairman of Kalyani Group said, "We want to provide state-of-the-art solutions in the small arms segment so that our security forces are equipped with the best in the world."

"The Kalyani Group which has been an active supplier of indigenous solutions to the Indian security forces has decided to partner with Beretta for the same. Beretta's advanced technology will be complemented with our world-class manufacturing capabilities, which include niche technologies like 3D printing. This will be the perfect example of 'Make in India' solutions."

"We are committed to the Indian market through transfer of technology to enable India to be self-sufficient for their small arms requirements in line with prime minister's vision of Make in India and have already executed similar projects in a number of countries," president of Fabbrica D'armi Pietro Beretta Franco Gussalli Beretta said.

Unlikely. These JVs are solely for the betterment of our forces.

As of today it seems very much likely, especially if the gun lobby is able to ease the licensing procedure in this country, they stand for big gains from a country of 1.4 billion people.

I dont know why only such notifications come and nothing happens on the ground. The shooting fraternity will gain a lot by original prices, after sales and service, gunfiting etc and ulitimately the nation will gain by hidden talent surfacing and affordable improved systems.
