Thank you all...

hamiclar01, the long wait was well worth it..

I received this well used venom vantage as a gift. Then sent the 77K for complete tuning, re blueing, engraving & stock refinishing to steve pope.

Inder,

Custom officers initially said they would have to detain the air rifle for a appraiser to come & value the 77K, they refused to believe it is a 7-8 year old air rifle which has been re furbished inspite of showing old pictures. We did not have the original invoice.

The officers on duty was always very polite. The value of a HW77K was then seen on the internet, all attempts to convince them that the duty is 35% failed, after close to 4 hours we paid 53% duty.

When the district rifle association membership letter was shown it did make a difference, they were overheard saying that a shooter has brought in a air gun which should be released after paying duty.

My HW-77K is also Venom tuned, but sadly does not have any engraving... maybe they've started engraving the barrels now...

Congrats for the beautiful gun !!

Congrats for the beautiful gun !!
Olly, your HW77 has a "V-Mach/ Venom DIY kit" installed - to make it shoot smoother. The pictures posted here are of a fully customised HW77, which has been "hand built" by the same co. - so besides new internals for smoother shooting, it also has a custom built stock, custom engraving and a full reblue job by V-Mach. So while a V-Mach DIY kit costs just GBP 70 or so, just This gun would have cost a pretty penny indeed!

Cheers!

Thank you all. This is a dream turned reality for me... used to exchange snail mail with venomac years ago..

The re-shaped and polished Venom straight blade has a first stage length set to 3/32". Its a very light trigger setting for a Rekord. One can still rock the first stage back and forth without it hanging up, so it is a safe as well as light trigger.
