Thanks Mack The Knife.......Quite pleased that I can sometimes drag names out of the distant past with my failing memory. If memory serves me right he also wrote about the Midlands air rifle leagues using bell targets in the same book............Shooting in pubs just as if it were darts. Didn`t he also develope a ballistic pendulum ?

Spot on! Indeed it was GC who devised a ballistic pendulum. There is a rather interesting story of how GC was visited by the owner of Indian Hume Pipe (the makers of National airguns) who wanted such a device. This was in an indirect corresspondence with me via his neighbour, who I knew from the Airgun BBS, a year or so before he passed away.

I will post it here when I find it.

He may have touched upon the subject of bell target shooting but I don't recall this. It was quite popular then.
