Recommendation for a scope (Bushnell 3-9x40)

Hi,

I have ordered NX200 online and will be delivered after the lockdown eases. Now, I'm looking for a scope and Bushnell 3-9x40 caught my eyes for Rs 5500. However, upon reading up more on it, I realize that all the online stores that sell this scope are replicas and not the actual original product.

Is it okay to buy these replicas? Are they as good as the original ones? Do you have any other recommendations within my budget range? I'm a little flexible on it.

Regards,
Nikita

Hi Nikita ,

Congratulations , NX 200 is Eve penny worth !!
What model have you chosen in stalk ?

Bushnell scopes are basic scopes ypu buy it in india or from eBay or AliExpress .

NX is a powerful rifle and to extract best of the accuracy I would put a descent scope , Discovery , Hawke , Nikko ..

Use the rifle with open sights for 500 shots n let her settle down and then scope her . Initially rifles do tend to be inconsistent and diesel and the zero cannot be consistent so better to scope after a tin of pellets through .

I hope you have also ordered rifle bag for scoped guns , precihole do have them too ..

Cheers
Pravin

What do you mean by stalk?

Thanks. I'll order the rifle bag today and will scope it after ~500 shots as suggested.

The guys at KoviBazaar told me 98% of the scope available in India are replicas! Discovery scopes are available at Kovibazar and I believe those are Chinese companies. Are they really better than the Replicas? Considering the cost which is more than the gun itself, I'm a little lost. May be I'll start with the replica Bushnell scope and save it up for better quality next time!

I meant stock .. black came or wooden ?
Discovery scopes are anytime better ... I think kovibazar has few ranging 7 to 8 k have a look

If at all you can definitely start with bushnell

Not at all ...but if mounted correctly and on sub 15ft gun they should work properly..

I have used center point 4-16 scope on my Artemis without any issue and she's more powerful than nx200

It's just the mount stop pin groove is not that deep so it use to slip back n resting on end cap as a stopper .

Cheers

Dear Pravin,
Which model of Artemis airgun do you have? I wanted to buy Artemis P15 which is exactly the same as Diana Skyhawk. Can you please guide me on from where I can buy it.
Regards
Sherin

Keep in my mind that 3-9x40 is good for plinking at 30-50 miters. If you are going to shoot cans or do some pest control at these distances you are good to go with 3-9x40. If you want to shoot paper targets at 50 miters and more, you have to consider something like 6-24x50. Also i highly recommend you to save some money and buy more expensive scope. As it was suggested here - consider Discovery optics and other real chines brands producing their own scopes, not cheap clones. As for chines clones it's a lottery. Some of them are not so bad, some are bad.
If after some time you decide to buy another rifle that shoots 100 miters and more you will always be able to use your scope with it. Scope price is similar to a gun price...

I second on quality scope ,

From my point of view a 14 foot pound springer rifle best use can be up to 30 40 yards for 90% of usage .

Periodically long range shooting is a fun ..

For nx200 power level good quality 9x magnification scope should be fine and trust me you will use it always around 4x to 6x :)

Still if budget doesn't allow go ahead with cheaper one to get use to scope n see what magnification you normally use and then buy that mag scope from a quality manufacturer

Thanks for the suggestions :)

Planning to increase my budget and get VT-1 4-16X42 AO DISCOVERY RIFLESCOPE. It's available for Rs 10,000 at KoviBazaar. Do you guys think this is a good investment? Also, will it fit NX200?

Hi ,

Check for the reviews online ..
This size scope should go well with nx200 , fitment should not be an issue , get a one piece mount with stop pin which goes in to the pin hole on the action .
